When was the last time you wondered if you should drink a wine or use it as a perfume? We are confident that the all-new 2016 rosé Pythagorean Pyramid by Vakakis Winery from Samos, will be a real dilema.
Black and White Muscat, a rare and original combination, into the hands of the experienced winemaker Nikos Vakakis, gave a dry rosé wine of stunning color and sophistication. While it looks like French roses from Provence, its aromas and taste will definitely bring to mind images from Greek summer!
The rebel winemaker Nikos Vakakis started and led the struggle for independence of Samos wine producers from the compulsory affiliation and now the first independent wineries are here. Under the mandatory law of 1934 all production of Samian vineyards should be delivered to the relevant association. Despite the difficult economic conditions and following intense litigation in Greece and the European Union, in 2011 Nikos Vakakis founded Winery Vakakis, the first independent winery of the island.
Winning his personal bet of reviving the extinct Black Muscat variety, he restored it on the island using it in blends with breathtaking results. All wines have taken their names from Pythagoras who comes from Samos.
The Rose Pythagorean Pyramid 2016 by Vakakis Winery is the first big surprise from a winery which holds many more. Get ready to try a wine that will literally pull your nose!
