Negkoska, a special variety of Goumenissa, is not common to rosé shades. But when it dares to be rosé, it is extraordinary!
The refugee grandparents of the Tatsis family arrived in Goumenissa in 1924 and they were in viticulture, continuing the tradition of their home–place, Eastern Romylia. The third now wine – making generation of the family, Periklis and Stergios Tatsis, grow Negkoska at the Libaskerit hill, which means "the hill where the angels live", a few miles outside Goumenissa. They apply biological methods back since 1998 and they insist in low output per klm².
Angel ‘s Heart Rosé 2015 is an excellent sample of the potential of the indigenous variety of Goumenissa, Negoska, which makes us wonder why there are not many rosé wines of it! And as a friend of mine says "In Domaine Tatsis even the water has tannins», you should be prepared for a rosé wine which is complex and multi-dimensional!
Enjoy it!
