Why do we love it?

With a name that refers to clean, uncontaminated water to the local dialect of Abdera, the Lagara 2014 by Domaine Vourvoukelis promises to become one of your favorite white wines!

With organic farming the blend of Assyrtiko and Sauvignon Blanc gave a wine with great intensity and finesse. The light touch of barrique for 2 to 4 months gives extra charm to the two varieties without depriving all the explosive fruity and vegetal character.

The region of Xanthi Abdera was one of the most famous wine regions of ancient times with its wines being infamous in the known world of the time. The Vourvoukelis family firmly and consistently demonstrates the area's excellent relationship with wine, producing great wines with good aging potential.

If you like the rich fruity aromas and intensity in the mouth, this wine is made for you. And do not rush to enjoy it. If you can afford to wait, it will reward you for the next 2-3 years.

Impressive light golden color in the glass.

Explosive nose full of fruit. Exotic pineapple and banana are accompanied by quince, apple, grapefruit, unripe peach and kumquat. Intense vegetiveness with grass expressions, hints of yeast and minerality complement the impressive aromatic bouquet.

Intense mouth feel, dry, with refreshing acidity and rich flavor character that follows the nose. Quince, grapefruit and pineapple take the lead, followed by grass on a background of diffuse minerallity. The aftertaste leaves a fruity mouthfeel that lasts for long.
