Why do we love it?

Cotes du Rhone Nature 2021 Famille Perrin is not another natural wine. Nature here means "with respect to nature" and it is about a wine, based exclusively on organic cultivation and philosophy. Famille Perrin, on the other hand, is a historic family of the Rhone. Keep in mind that it is the family behind the famous Chateau Beaucastel (yes, you read well).

The 5th generation of Perrin is now taking over, and they continue with faith in the tradition of the family and the Rhone. With respect to nature, they deal with organic as well as biodynamic cultivation, creating wines with the typical style of the region that reflect the terroir. The Cotes du Rhone Nature 2021 Famille Perrin is a classic blend of the region, Grenache Rouge - Syrah, from grapes coming from the privately-owned vineyards of the family between Valreas and Vaison La Romane. They follow classic red vinification in stainless steel tanks and then maturation in tanks and foudres (25%) for a year. Foudres are the large oak barrels (even 1.000 liters of capacity) used in Rhone. The result is a wine with delicate tannins, juicy fruit, and spicy character.

2021, according to Perrins, was a terrific year as the weather conditions were almost perfect for producing perfectly ripe grapes.

We agree 100% with them. Will you;

Tastes Like

Cotes du Rhone Nature 2021 Famille Perrin has a medium purple color with ruby hues and a nose with an intense fruity character. Red and black cherry, strawberry, and sour cherry are complemented by floral notes expressed as violet and lavender. The spicy character gives aromas of white and green pepper, spices, and licorice, which adds points to the complexity of the nose creating a very interesting aromatic bouquet.

On the palate it is medium-bodied and it instantly wins you with the explosive intensity of its flavors. Well-structured tannins fill the mouth and balance with its vivid acidity. Cherry, strawberry, and raspberry are followed by cocoa, butter, spices, pepper, and green tea notes. Enjoyable, fruity aftertaste that lasts.

  • 900gr lamb fillet

For the salad

  • 200gr couscous
  • 2 zucchinis, cut into thin strips
  • 200gr (7oz) mixed tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 bunch of parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 lemons, juice, plus 1 tablespoon lemon zest, and lemon slices for serving
