When was the last time you enjoyed a really delicious wine? Re
The Tempranillo, the most famous red grape variety of Spain and the base of the famous Rioja, is cultivated just outside Zevgolatio Messinia. The vines were planted by Vasilis Kapopoulos's father in the early 80's, when in a moment of inspiration, he bought the rights from the pioneering Domaine Porto Carras and cultivated the unknown in Greece variety.
Recently they started a restructuring process of the vineyard with the provision for the replacement of the vines with native varieties. In an experimental vinification of the Spanish varietal, and one of the very few in Greece, shortly before replacing it with a Greek variety, the ROES 2015 Temranillo by Oinotropai Winery stayed in American oak barrels for 12 months. One of them fell in our hands and after tasting it we asked Vasilis Kapopoulos to think again.
The velvety nose impresses from the first moment, while the mouth is so delicious and intense that the toned alcohol passes completely unnoticed.
Do not try it alone. It loves bold yellow cheese, jamon or other salty and spicy sausages. Alternatively combine with pork or sausages on the grill.
Trust us, you will not notice when you emptied the bottle.
