Why do we love it?

Bourgogne 2017 Marquis d'Angerville is not just another Chardonnay nor another Burgundy. It is an absolute expression of the Cote de Beaune and Volnay by one of Burgundy's most important and historic producers.

Domaine Marquis d'Angerville has made a great contribution to what Burgundy is today and to the fact that there are microwineries and boutique wineries that make great wines. Why? Because around 1920 they decided to bottle their own wine, with their own label and not to give it to the negociants. At that time this movement was almost revolutionary and formed the basis for the development of other wineries in the region. Wanting to have complete quality control, they took the risk and started bottling their own wines from their vineyards in Volnay, Mersault and Pommard. To this day, Domaine’s wines are considered classic and timeless, while they are famous for their exceptional quality even in the simplest labels. Also, for Bourgogne the protocols that follow are the same as those of the Premier Cru. Specifically for the Bourgogne Blanc 2017 Marquis d'Angerville they follow exactly the same winemaking techniques as those of the Mersault Premier Cru.

The grapes come from their own vineyards in Volnay, grown biodynamically, from 30-year-old vines. Their philosophy includes mild natural vinification, with indigenous yeasts and minimal interventions that allow each vintage to show its uniqueness. Finally, the wine matures for a few months in one ton oak barrels. The result is creamy and elegant.

Enjoy Bourgogne 2017 Marquis d'Angerville with pasta with white sauces like carbonara.

BOURGOGNE BLANC 2017 - MARQUIS D' ANGERVILLE

PAIR IT

Pairs with carbonara, chicken with mushrooms, seabass with butter sauce

Tagliatelle with mushroom sauce

  • ½ kg of fresh mushrooms
  • 1 clove of garlic chopped
  • 1 tbsp. of lemon juice
  • 3 tbsps. of olive oil
  • 1 tsp. of salt
  • freshly ground pepper
  • 1 tbsp. of chopped parsley
  • 1/2 kg tagliatelle pasta
  • 1 glass of white wine
  • 1/4 cup of cream
  • 3 tbsps. Parmesan cheese and as much as you like for serving

Clean the mushrooms. Cut the edges and then slice them and mix them with the lemon juice.

In a large frying pan add the olive oil and put it in a medium - high heat and when it heats up well, add the garlic stirring well to keep it from sticking and not burn. Add the mushrooms, stir well and cover the pan with a lid. Sauté for 4 minutes stirring frequently.

Remove the lid and add salt and pepper according to your preferences. Stir occasionally and   allow them to absorb their juices and become brown (about 5 minutes).

At the same time, in a pot, boil some water and prepare the tagliatelle according to the instructions of their packaging.

Pour a glass of white wine in the pan, preferably from the wine with which you will accompany the plate.

Add cream and grated Parmesan and let it simmer by lowering the heat, for 3 -4 minutes until it thickens. Remove the pan from the fire, add the pasta, mix well and add the parsley. Serve with grated parmesan cheese.
