Platinum and gold medals at the biggest international wine competitions adorn the Εpitome of Nopera Winery in its first few years.
Of course, Nopera Winery has a long history of sweet muscat wine. In the 19th century, when the Nopera family emigrated to Samos, the foundations for the creation of an exceptional sweet wine from Moschato grapes came into being.
If you have tried Nopera Vintage 2013 you will know that the bar is already very high, so what should they do to get the sweet wine from muscat a step further?
The base is almost the same: 3 vineyards with 3 different terroirs. Imagine the complexity of choosing wines from the most special barrels, from different years, with different degrees of aging each. And yes, they do it to create an incredibly concentrated wine, with a multidimensional character that uniquely combines the aromas of oxidative aging and freshness. Can you think of something better?
We can’t and we especially enjoyed it when Decanter's world-renowned contest recognized the excellent quality, finesse and complexity of the Nopera Winery Epitome, giving it 95 points and a gold medal.
The "epitome" of sweet muscat was bottled in a limited number of bottles and is waiting to be discovered!
