Pinot Gris Villa Wolf has the taste of the juicy pears of August and the carefree feeling of summer. All this in just one sip! If you do not believe us, you can find out for yourself!

Villa Wolf Winery is one of Ernst Loosen's projects. The special microclimate of Pfalz piqued his interest and he decided to build another winery there and make wines with a predominant fruity style. As we have well understood, you love the wines of the winery, such as the Gewurztraminer and Pinot Noir. That's why we wanted to introduce you to our new favorite, the Pinot Gris Villa Wolf. Pinot Gris ferments in old, neutral oak barrels and matures there in contact with its wine lees for several months. The result is juicy, with lemony acidity and an oily texture.

Tastes Like

Pinot Gris Villa Wolf has pale lemon color with silver hues and an expressive nose, with aromas of grape, pear, lemon, lime, green apple, and grapefruit. In the mouth, it has a medium body, crisp acidity, and a subtle oily feeling. Juicy pear, lemon, grapefruit, dough, pineapple, white flowers, and hints of minerality compose a delicious whole.

PINOT GRIS 2019 - VILLA WOLF (ERNST LOOSEN)

with sautéed shrimps with lemon and parsley, spaghetti with siciliano pesto, sushi, or a Tom Kha Gai soup.

Shrimps with peas and ginger

  • 3 tbsps. of olive oil
  • 300 grams of mushrooms cut into four
  • 1/3 cup of peas
  • 8 large shrimps peeled
  • 1 tsp. grated ginger
  • 3 tbsps. of soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. vinegar of white wine

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a pan, on high heat. Add the mushrooms and let them soften by stirring, about 5 minutes. Remove them from the pan and put them on an absorbent paper.

Add the peas to the pan and cook by stirring for about 2 minutes. Remove them from the pan and put them along with the mushrooms on the absorbent paper.

Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the pan. Then put the shrimps and chopped ginger in the pan. Reduce the heat to moderate and cook until the shrimp becomes opaque, about 4 minutes.

Return all vegetables to the pan, add soy sauce and white wine vinegar. Cook until they are warm enough, about 4 minutes.
