Why do we love it?
We have news for you: you do not need to break the bank to drink a magnificent Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire valley! Quincy Quartz par Dimitri Mesnard 2019 is here to introduce you to the fruity and affordable side of the Loire and it is simply amazing!
Dimitri Mesnard is a Master Sommelier that comes from the Loire valley and specifically from the village of Quincy. When his grandmother died, about 10 years ago, she bequeathed to him a small piece of land. Dimitri then decided that he did not want to lose touch with his roots and so he returned to Quincy and started buying plots of land in order to plant his own vineyard and make his own wine. Ten years later, he did it! Quincy may not have the reputation of a Sancerre but it has historical significance as it was Loire's first AOC (the region's dynamics were recognized early on)!
Quincy Quartz par Dimitri Mesnard 2019 took the name quartz from the soils of the area that are rich in quartz and clay. The special soil composition is responsible for the special aromatic profile of this Sauvignon Blanc. At the same time, the careful vinification at low temperatures further enhanced the fruity aromas of the variety. The result is juicy, elegant and combines green fruits with the herbaceous aromas of the variety!
Dimitri Mesnard says there is a myth that witches lived in the area. Is that why Quincy Quartz enchants anyone who tries it??
