Why do we love it?

With the basic philosophy of production of healthy products without pesticide residues, the Theodorakakos family has embraced organic farming since 1996. With an emphasis on the cultivation of rare and indigenousvarieties like Mavroudi and Kidonitsa, DomaineTheodorakakos is a pioneer in the region of Laconia.

Mavroudi rewards the persistence of George Theodorakakos on local varieties giving an excellent red wine. The 12-month stay in French oak barrels adds a velvety texture and enviable complexity. It will surelydelight and  acquire fanatics among the fans of the genre!

Magenta color with dark red hues in our glass.

On the nose plum and sour cherry complemented beautifully by apple and cinnamon aromas. The barrel enriches the aromatic set  with spicy aromas of pepper, animal skin notes, oak, toast and herbal cues  of thyme and oregano.

Well-structured mouth, velvety, properly integrated with moderate tannins and balanced acidity that adds nerve. Apple and cinnamon are easy to spot among the oral aromas and remain there in a more  spicy version in a good lasting aftertaste.

MAVROUDI 2008-KTIMA THEODORAKAKOS

Combine with barbecued meats, sausages or hunts.

Lamb with honey and rosemary

  • 4 racks of lamb with 3 lamb chops each

for the marinade:

  • 2 tbsp chopped rosemary
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 125ml red wine

Marinade: Mix rosemary, honey, garlic and wine in a large bowl. Put the racks in and cover them with the marinade. Marinate for 10 '

Drain the racks and put them in a baking pan that has been brushed with oil. Bake for 20 minutes, or according to your preference, in a preheated oven in 200 degrees (Celsius).
