SORRY GUYS, WE RAN OUT OF THIS ONE

A red wine evolving every single minute!

Why do we love it?

What if three French varieties of the Southern Rhone Valley meet on a hill in Crete called Turtle? The Mourvedre, known as Monastrell in Spain or Mataro in Australia, Syrah and Grenache Rouge are grown in a single experimental vineyard of just 1 acre at the foot of the beautiful mount Youchtas in the heart of Crete, at the Turtle area.

Nikos Miliarakis, successor of the historic winery Minos, experimented with them as a personal bet on the possibility of making a special red wine from the three cosmopolitan varieties in the unique terroir of the region. The sun of Crete, the cool evenings of the slope and soil composition of the region with huge wine history did wonders for the threeFrench ladies who adapted brilliantly. Their stay for 10 months in French barrique helped them express themselves even better by harnessing the exuberant character of a wine which gets even better every minute that passes!

Tastes Like

Ruby color with crimson hues impresses in the glass.

Complex nose, evolving as the wine breathes. Cherry, blueberry, raspberry jam and vanilla fruit combined with hints of violet and sweet spicy tones of cinnamon, cardamom and cloves. Gradually, hints of minerality and olive aromas, soil and milk chocolate make their presence felt giving unique depth in the complex bouquet.

Medium to full body with velvety, soft tannins and well balanced acidity. Cherries dipped in cinnamon and clove take over the palate. The surprising finish leaves a long chocolaty aftertaste that remains in the mouth for long.
