Why do we love it?

Merlot Argyriou 2016 is a fantastic Merlot which, while having a rich, juicy fruit, has a crisp acidity and a perfectly integrated barrel. It would be extremely difficult not to love it with the first sip.

In Parnassos, at an altitude of 450 meters, in the privately-owned vineyards of Argyriou family, the French variety found the ideal conditions to unleash its exuberant character. The ideal climate and altitude help to ripen properly but at the same time maintain the vivid acidity that gives balance to the whole. The maturation in French oak barrels (225 lt) adds extra points of complexity. If to all the above you add the experience of the winemaker, Nikos Argyriou, then you understand that we are talking about an exemplary red wine.

It's delicious now, but you can age it for 6-8 years.

Tastes Like

In the glass, its colour is dark red with purple highlights.

Comlpex aromas of ripe, small, red fruit dominate in the nose with cherry and strawberry in a jam form to make their presense noticeable. Sweet spices, paprika, cinnamon, wet soil, vanilla notes, toffee and smoke complete the rich bouquet.

In the mouth, it is rich with velvet texture and medium, rounded tannins which balance its well-put acuity. The mouth aromas are intense and mostly spicy, with the strawberry jam to be especially noticeable, while the long-lasting aftertaste leaves in the mouth the sense of sweet spice.
