Why do we love it?

Limnio rosé Gkirlemis Winery is an amazing rosé wine, in an even more amazing bottle. The bottle shouts elegance and if you try the content, you will find that the interior matches perfectly with the exterior!

In 2007 Gkirlemis family started, with the help of a team of experienced viticulturists and oenologists, the studies and experiments to select the most suitable varieties to be planted in the 350 acres of privately owned vineyards in Domokos. From the very first bottling the results were quite encouraging but this year we consider that they are going through their best phase. Probably because the vines have grown and give better-quality fruit. After the "classic" varieties, they decided to deal with more special ones, so Limnio Rose was born. Limnio was planted in the privately owned vineyards in Domokos in 2009 and the first bottling came about 10 years later. The wine fermented and matured in stainless steel tanks, with fine wine lees for 3 months. The result is elegant and packed with strawberry aromas.

Limnio rosé Gkirlemis Winery has pale pink color and delicate aromas of strawberry, cherry, cranberry, white rose, dough and apricot.

In the mouth it has medium body, medium (+) acidity and a discreet oily texture. Juicy red fruits are mixed with notes of white flowers, icing sugar and dough.

PAIR IT

Pair it with pizza Margherita, burrata with strawberries, shrimp pasta

Pizza with prosciutto and arugula

  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. of grated red pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 2 tbsps. of olive oil
  • 1 ball of pizza dough, flattened
  • 3/4 cup mozzarella, grated
  • 4 slices of prosciutto, cut into four
  • 1/4 cup mushrooms cut into slices
  • 1/2 small red onion, sliced ​​thinly
  • 1-2 tbsps. Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup of rocket

Preheat the oven to 200oC.

In a bowl, mix tomato sauce, oregano and red pepper. Apply the mixture over the flattened pizza dough. Cover with the half grated mozzarella.

Spread prosciutto, mushrooms and onion evenly and sprinkle with the rest of the mozzarella.

Brush the dough crust with olive oil and sprinkle with the grated parmesan cheese.

Place the pizza on baking paper sheet and bake until the cheese gets a golden color, about 10 to 12 minutes.

While the pizza is in the oven, put the rocket, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and a little salt in a small bowl and mix it up.

Remove the pizza from the oven. Let it cool for 5 minutes and then apply the rocket mix. Cut the pizza and serve it warm or at room temperature.
