Why do we love it?

Whispering Angel by Château d'Esclans is the most famous rosé in the world and the one that sparked the global Rosé Renaissance! Beloved by fans around the world and poured by the second, it’s the ultimate all-season, all-occasion rose wine icon.

Whispering Angel is a creation of the ingenious Sacha Lichine, who in 2006 acquired the winery in order to produce the best rosé wines in the world and start the "rosé renaissance". He sure did! For Whispering Angel, he used pioneering techniques for Provence that changed the rosé wines of the region forever.

In the heart of Provence, in an idyllic Tuscan villa-style Château , lies the Château d 'Esclans. Caves d 'Esclans operates as a negociant but also as a winery and every year it searches and finds the best grapes and the best vineyards of Provence, apart from its privately-owned ones, to create Whispering Angel. The varieties Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, Carignan, and Vermentino come together in an extremely elegant and aromatic blend. Frequent batonnage gives volume, creaminess, and the characteristic strawberries and cream flavor.

Highly awarded and consistently praised by top wine critics year after year, Whispering Angel steals the spotlight wherever it goes.

It’s hands down the most addictive rosé we’ve ever tasted—and if you don’t already have two or three bottles in your cellar, maybe don’t even try it… because once you do, there’s no going back!

Chateau d' Esclans

Château d'Esclans is located in the heart of Provence, north‑east of St Tropez. Its old vines and privileged location formed the foundation of Sacha Lichine’s vision: to create the world’s greatest rosé wines and to ignite the “Rosé Renaissance”. Patrick Léon stood alongside him in this ambitious endeavour, bringing with him decades of winemaking expertise (Château Mouton Rothschild, Opus One). The introduction of innovative — for the region — winemaking techniques, more reminiscent of Burgundy, revolutionised the style of Provence rosé. This led to the creation of a remarkable collection of rosé wines to suit every palate, crowned by Garrus, a rosé made from 100‑year‑old vines. At the same time, the resounding success of Whispering Angel stands as one of the most enviable wine success stories of the past twenty years.

Arugula salad with smoked salmon, avocado and roasted almond

  • 300 grams of arugula as fresh as possible
  • 200 g of smoked salmon
  • 50 g roasted almonds
  • an avocado, thickly cut
  • a little dill
  • a little fennel
  • 50 g of oil
  • 2 lemons
  • a little orange juice
  • salt
  • pepper
  • three types of peppercorns: green, red, black

Cut salmon in strips. Marinate for 3 hours in the refrigerator, in a bowl of lemon juice, finely chopped dill and fennel, pepper and a little olive oil. Mix by hand to combine all the ingredients.

Chop the roasted almonds.

Put the peppercorns in the mortar and break them lightly to release their aromas.

In a large salad bowl, cut the arugula in large pieces, add the avocado, pour over the salmon strips and sprinkle with pepper and roasted almond.

While serving, sprinkle with a dressing of: lemon, salt, a little orange juice and minimum olive oil, that we have previously mix well.
