RAMNISTA 2019 - KTIMA KYR-YIANNI
Ramnista 2019 from Kyr-Yianni Estate is a sample of elegance and balance. The ideal altitude and the climate influence of Mount Vermio contribute to the creation of an exuberant Xinomavro of the modern school, which flirts with the old as much as necessary. The wine is fermented in French oak tanks and then matured in French barrels. It is elegant, formal, and can age well.
LIMNIONA 2021 – OENOPS WINES
The purest and truest expression of Limniona, which can compete with many Pinot Noir, inside and outside of France. Alcoholic fermentation is done with native yeasts, in large open barrels and then the wine matures in amphorae, with its fine lees, for 10 months. The result preserves unchanged the fruit's juicy and expressive character and the terroir's imprint.
THYMARI PETRAS ROBOLA 2022 - PETRAKOPOULOS WINERY
The Petrakopoulos winery deals with special vineyards and experimental vinification in minimal bottles, testing different approaches to Kefalonia varieties. "Stone Thyme" comes from one of the best vineyards, Lakkomatia, which has strongly stony soil as well as thyme and wild herbs growing between the vines. The stay for 6 months on the lees gives an exuberant oily sensation and full body, highlighting the impressive gifts of the variety.
HOOF & LUR 2022 - TROUPIS WINERY
A wine ode to the plateau of Mantineia, from the Troupis winery, which makes many different versions of the beloved reddish variety. This is the most special one that has rightly attracted the attention of the judges and the American press. Yiannis Troupis dedicates this wine to his grandparents and follows the traditional recipe of fermentation with native yeasts, skin contact, and minimal use of sulfides. An orange, natural, Moschofilero unlike any other.
TEAR OF THE PINE - KECHRIS WINERY
Yet another accolade for Tear of the Pine, whose countless gold medals and honors in the world's biggest competitions fill pages. Assyrtiko is grown in Goumenissa and the alcoholic fermentation takes place in oak barrels of different types and origins. After 6 months in contact with its fine lees, it acquires an enviable complexity and volume, which rightfully earns it a place on the world's breathtaking lists. An unusual Retsina, who continues to impress the whole world.
PYRITIS 2020 - ARTEMIS KARAMOLEGOS WINERY
The Pyritis 2020 of the Artemis Karamolegos Winery is a great Santorini, which in every vintage brings out the greatness of Assyrtiko and so every distinction is never a surprise! Exuberant and at the same time elegant, it expresses the terroir of the 3 best vines of the island aged 120 years or more. The grapes come from two vines in Pyrgos and one in Megalochori, with a very low per acre yield, which with minimal intervention vinification and a 10-month stay on the lees, create one of the best Assyrtikο wines of Santorini.
