Tequila Komos Anejo Cristalino is an incredible tequila that can’t be compared with anything else. Casa Komos Brands Group, to which it belongs, was founded in 2019 by Richard Betts and Joe Marchese with the aim of creating premium spirits. The first distillate they started with was the one that they knew best, Tequila. This is how Tequila Komos Anejo Cristalino was born.
Its base is blue agave, hand-picked from the slopes and plains of Jalisco. The agave is then traditionally baked in ovens and then twiced distilled in copper pot stills. The distillate ages for 12 months in French oak barrels that white wine was aged before and not bourbon oak barrels as usual. Then it dripped through a carbon column to remove all the impurities (hence the cristalino). Finally, before bottling, the distillate matures in Greek amphorae in order to come in contact with as much oxygen as needed to make it smooth and round.
Tequila Komos Anejo Cristalino has a transparent, crystalline color and aromas of caramelized pineapple, lime zest, flowers, smoke, cedar and spices from the oak aging. In the mouth the alcohol is nicely integrated into the whole. It has medium body and oily texture. The fruit in the mouth is sweeter and has a botanical and mineral dimension.
