We already love it for the great quality of all its wines that we have tasted so far. Following the same recipe and satisfying the high expectations it has created, the Athiri 2019 by Mpougiouris Estate, is undoubtedly among the best wines from the variety.

We adore it for the truly amazing value for money of its wines, and Athiri 2019 leaves absolutely no space for doubt.

The ancient Greek variety of the Aegean islands is leaving Cyclades and now it is cultivated throughout Greece. The slopes of the mountain Kytheronas and the Erythres region, seem to be a perfect match, causing it to express the full brilliance of its character. Light, flowery, playful and easy to combine with a wide range of Greek cuisine dishes, the Athiri easily became one of the varieties that were loved in Greece.

Athiri 2019 from Mpougiouris Estate promises enjoyable moments accompanying Greek cuisine dishes or on its own, as an aperitif. As for valur for money? This will certainly surprise you!

Tastes Like

Light lemon color with greenish reflections in the glass.

Rich floral aromas of rose and jasmine are combined with bergamot, peach and green apple. Freshly cut grass and hints of minerality complement the aromatic bouquet.

Elegant mouth, with moderate volume body and nicely balanced acidity. Apple, grapefruit, citrus and Turkish delight rose, stand out in the mouth and remain there in the long aftertaste.

Fennel fritters

  • 1 bunch of fennel
  • 1 large onion
  • 20 ml. Ouzo
  • 150 gr. flour for all purposes
  • 1 tsp. of sugar
  • ½ tsp. of soda
  • 1 tbsp. of vinegar white
  • 130 ml. water
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil for frying

Chop the fennel and the onion and mix all the ingredients together in a bowl. Put the olive oil in the pan to heat up and add one by one, spoonful of our mixture. Fry them on both sides until golden brown. Serve hot.
