Why do we love it?

We wanted the very first wine we curated to be one that brings back some of our most beautiful memories. A wine that makes you top up your glass before it’s even halfway down. That’s exactly what Flirt sto Almyriki aka Flirt under the Tamarisk is – a white wine that evokes those summer afternoons when, after a dip in the sea, we’d hide from the sun beneath the tamarisk tree. Golden sand on sun-kissed skin, salt in our hair, and a thirst that water from the canteen could never quite quench. That’s why Flirt sto Almyriki was born!

For this wine, Assyrtiko meets Malagousia in a blend brimming with freshness, while just a dash of Muscat lifts its aromatic character to new heights.

It’s one of those wines you’ll always want chilling in your fridge. The kind that saves the day on any occasion – from the glass that brightens your mood after a tough day to the bottle you proudly bring out for a proper Sunday lunch.

One thing’s for sure: it already has a loyal following – and not just in Greece.

Tastes Like

On the nose, it’s striking, with stone fruits accompanied by delicate floral and herbal notes. Peach, lime and daisy take centre stage, with hints of chamomile lingering in the background.

Just as refreshing on the palate – fruity, light-bodied, with balanced alcohol and a peachy finish that lingers beautifully.

Pair it with marinated sea bass with lime, crispy fried whitebait, or a salad of samphire, cherry tomatoes and Volaki cheese.

Shrimps with garlic and lemon

  • 500 gr. jumbo sized shrimps. Defrost them if they are frozen. If they are not pre-peeled, peel them when they have defrosted.)
  • 2 tbsps. olive oil
  • 1 tbsp. butter
  • 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
  • 2 tbsps. fresh lemon juice
  • ½ tbsp. lemon zest
  • salt

If you use frozen shrimps, let them defrost overnight in the fridge. Drain the shrimps and dry them with kitchen towel.

 Zest a large lemon and then squeeze the juice to give at least 2 tablespoons of juice and close to half a tablespoon of lemon zest. Clean the garlic and finely chop  it.

 Heat the olive oil in medium to high heat, then add the butter to melt.

Add the shrimps to a single layer and leave until they start getting pink color at the edges, no longer than 1-2 minutes.

Turn the shrimps on the other side and add the chopped garlic. Continue cooking for another 3-4 minutes. Pour in the lemon juice, add the lemon zest and salt to taste and mix to cover the shrimps with the sauce.

Serve immediately
