Why do we love it?

The family winery of Nana and Apostolos Lykos is located in Malakonda, Evia, and is an oasis of wine tourism. It offers the possibility of a tour of the cellars, a tasting, and a meal at the winery's restaurant accompanied by fine wines from the estate. Dimitris Lykos is now actively involved in winemaking and after Malagouzia, Chardonnay, Viognier, and Sauvignon Blanc, it was Kydonitsa's turn! The vinification in a tank emphasized its characteristic lemony taste, while its crisp acidity put it on the pedestal of the best wines for infinite taste combinations.

Tastes Like
In the glass, it is moderately lemony. Elegant aromas of quince, citrus, pear, bergamot, lemon, chamomile, and green apple.
 
In the mouth, it has a moderate (+) body and crisp acidity. Intense aromas of quince, lemon, lime, grapefruit, pear, melon, and white flowers. The aftertaste is long and enjoyable.

AGELI KYDONITSA 2023 - LYKOS WINERY

PAIR IT

Pair it with light salads, white cheeses, white meat dishes, and lemony oven-baked sauces

Tabbouleh salad

  • 1 cup of couscous
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • juice of a lemon
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 cup of chopped parsley
  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander
  • 2 tbsps chopped fresh mint
  • 2 ripe tomatoes, cut into cubes
  • 3 fresh onions, finely chopped

Heat water, after salting it first,  in a medium-sized pot and leave it to boil. Add the couscous and leave to moderate heat for 7 to 8 minutes. Drain the couscous and let it cool down. In the meantime, in a small bowl, mix lemon juice with olive oil. Add salt and pepper.

In a large bowl, mix couscous, parsley, coriander, mint, tomatoes and onions. Add the mixture of lemon juice and olive oil and salt and pepper. Leave it for about 20 minutes before serving to marinate.
