Why do we love it?

Kidonitsa by Papagiannakopoulos Winery is one of those discoveries that makes you smile from the very first sip. What makes it so special? The clue is in the name ("Kydoni" means quince in Greek). It features a persistent, clean aroma of ripe quince that serves as its unmistakable trademark!

Panos Papagiannakopoulos is a young yet highly promising winemaker. After years of working with some of the country’s largest wineries (learning the ropes from a young age), he decided the time had come to create something of his own. He settled in Nemea, and his vision began to take shape, with his brand-new winery now a reality.

In fact, Panos was among the first to believe in Kidonitsa and introduce it to the Nemea region, proving that this rare variety can perform miracles even beyond its "traditional" boundaries. He wanted to craft a Kidonitsa that you’d never tire of—a wine with a character that remains unforgettable. And he succeeded. With its complex flavors, balanced acidity, and a "full" roundness on the palate, it’s a wine you’ll always want to have in your fridge.

Tastes Like

Kidonitsa by Papagiannakopoulos Winery has a brilliant lemon color with greenish hues and intoxicating aromas of ripe quince, pear, white-fleshed peach, lemon blossoms, and fresh herbs.

On the palate, it has a medium-to-full body, balanced acidity, and a delightful roundness. Ripe yellow fruits, quince preserve, and notes of bergamot blend with a subtle minerality in a complex and elegant bouquet that leaves a long, aromatic aftertaste.
