Lenga white is a big bet won by Apostolos Mountrichas and has made waves with its strongly aromatic character and special finesse. So much so that you may not understand its place of origin!
You will have heard of the noble varieties of Alsace and the terrific wines they produce. One of them is the Gewurztraminer and it is also one that loves its place more than all of them since it is particularly scherzo and difficult to acclimatize to foreign lands and different climates. Apostolos Mountrichas, however, insisted for years that the semi-mountainous region of Afrati, in the village of Mytikas, and the cold wind waves from Mount Dirfi at 1743 meters, might have reminded her of her homeland. And he was right after all! The variety showed absolute compatibility with the area's terroir and justified it, with an almost exotic result.
The Lenga white Gewurztraminer consists of 100% Gewurztraminer, with the pre-fermentation extraction having further enhanced the exotic aromas and giving it an elegant oily feel and a subtle, characteristic of the variety, sweetness as if it had been aged in a barrel. But it hasn't!
It should already have tickled your fancy and we'd say give it a try soon because it usually disappears quickly!
