MALVASIA AROMATICA 2013-ALEXAKIS WINERY

The beautiful lady on the label parades in our glasses alluring with her aromas and taste whoever crosses her path.The charismatic variety Malvasia Aromatica found the best conditions on the semi-mountainous areas of prefecture of Herakleio in altitude of 350-550 metres,taking advantage of the sea breeze that sweetens the hot summer nights.The two brothers Lazaros and Apostolos Alexakis,both  qualified oenologists,from the Univesrity of Florence the first and from the University of Fresno California the second,follow the footsteps of their father Stellios,believing that detail makes the difference.Their love for what they do in combination with the terroir and potential of the variety  grants Malvasia Aromatica 2013 all the qualifications to be one of next our beloved white wines.The international awards are just the icing on the cake..

In the glass,its colour is white-yellowish with bright golden highlights.In the nose,it captivates with the intense aromas of jasmin and night flower which are completed by ripe peach and melon.Honey and mineralish hints with the form of salt complete the aroma party. In the mouth,it is full with rich body and enviable oilness.The aromas have also great intensity and duration,while the refreshing acuity and the unexpectedly emphasized alcohol(14%)balance the total and contribute imensely to its palatable intensity and pungency.The long-lasting aftertaste leaves a delicate sense of bitter almond at the end.
