METHEA WHITE 2016 - VRINIOTIS WINERY

It’s the surprise wine of the year: Methea white 2016 from Vriniotis Winery. Never before a daily wine, of that price, had intrigued Robert Parker’s and his team’s curiosity. Methea White not only gained his attention, but it also scored 90 points! The 6-month stay in the bottle helped and highlighted the aromas of the wine, because he had tasted it fresh. Now is the right time to enjoy it. We can only agree with him and reserve the last bottles.

Kostas Vroniotis does not need any recommendations, since the great wines that he creates in Gialtra of Evia are talking on his behalf. Methea white is an aromatic blend of Aidani and Monemvasia. Each variety is fermented separately in stainless tanks at controlled low temperatures to achieve the best aromatic profile. The resulting wine is delicate, with distinctive aromas of flowers and citrus, with balanced acidity and persistent aftertaste.

Methea White 2016 – Vriniotis Winery is the ultimate aperitif or can accompany light dishes pleasantly. The sure thing is that with this quality/price ratio it will become one of your favorites as it happened to us.

It has pale lemon color in the glass.

Its nose of moderate aromatic intensity has notes of lemon blossom, lime, grapefruit, lemon, white peach and chamomile. Distinctive vegetal notes give extra complexity to the bouquet.

In the palate it has medium (-) body with moderate acidity and medium (+) aromatic intensity. Citrus, lime, grapefruit, peach and pear fragrances, accompanied by white flowers and create a pleasant and juicy set. It has persistent fruity aftertaste.
