Why do we love it?
We love Assyrtiko, but we adore the slightly reformed version of Assyrtiko, with its oak aging and a pinch of Xinomavro! Yes, you got it right, we're talking about the new Moschopolis 6 that has just been released and it's simply irresistible! And if you do not believe us then the gold medal at Mundus Vini and the distinction Best in Show, among 4,500 wines come to confirm our sayings but also that this wine makes some noise wherever it appears.
If you see Moschopolis on the label, you know for sure that it's good! And how could it not be? George Germanis, with many years of experience in the largest wineries in the country, leaves nothing to chance. On the contrary, he knows all the steps for the creation of a great wine. Alice Germanis, Dimitris Paralidis, and Theodore Germanis, the new and promising generation of the winery, follow him all the way, from the vineyard to the barrel. For Moschopolis 6, Assyrtiko grows and ripens in the dry, coastal vineyard of the family and at the right time, it is picked by hand. Only the best grapes are included in the flagship white of the winery. The blend is complemented by a 10% of Xinomavro, which is vinified by the blanc de noir method (white from red), which gives a very interesting botanical character to the wine. After that, the wine is fermented with indigenous yeasts (to better expres the terroir) in French oak barrels of first and second use. It matures there for 6 months and this is how it got its name, 6. The wine is bottled unfiltered and is intended for long-term aging because it has everything it needs to go a long way: impressive fruit concentration, sharp acidity, and dense structure! Sure in 5 years it will have become even more amazing but who is waiting?
Moschopolis 6 by Moschopolis Winery is a rich and intense white wine that can accompany even meat dishes!
