Monemvasia OuSyra Winery is back and we really like it! The rare Cycladic variety gives a really delicious and elegant wine that deserves your attention!

Ousyra means joy and reflects the happiness of the couple behind the winery, who met and fell in love in Syros. Edward left behind cold Scotland and stayed forever on the idyllic island of Cyclades, Syros. He devoted himself to the emergence of the terroir of Syros and the Cycladic, rare and almost extinct varieties.

Monemvasia 2022 OuSyra Winery is an excellent example of the special and rare variety. The man who signs this original and delicate vinification is none other than Spyros Zoumboulis (oenologist at La Tour Melas, if that rings any bells). Impressive purity of fruit, salinity, and subtle floral aromas compose one of the hits of the year.

It has pale lemon color with greenish hues and an elegantly aromatic nose. Aromas of pear, citron, lemon, bergamot, chrysanthemum, chamomile, lemon blossom, lemon verbena, and sage spring from the glass.

In the mouth, it has a medium body, balanced acidity, and waxy texture. Juicy fruits such as apple, pear, lemon, lime, citron, and grapefruit are blended with white flowers and herbs on a "salty" mineral background.
