Why do we love it?

We first met about a year ago. You remember when we apologized because we did not get to get more ... Now, the White Rizoma Assyrtiko Malagousia 2017 came in a little earlier. Do not imagine any big quantities. About 300 bottles of one of the most honest white wines you've ever tasted.

Priftis winery, although small, has already provided excellent samples with Rizoma Red, redefining the term “value for money”. Now comes the time to do the same with a white of our rather “national” blend. Assyrtiko and Malagousia from low-yield, privately owned vines in Keratea, Attica, meet to give a white wine that can become your favorite everyday habit. At least for as long as it lasts.

Tastes Like

Gentle lemon color with greenish shades in the glass.

Sophisticated nose with moderate intensity characteristic aromas of mature citrus, apricot, white peach and quince in the foreground. The elegant aromatic bouquet is complemented by lemon blossom notes, jasmine and chamomile, while nocturnal and cottony notes appear discreetly.

Round on the palate, with medium volume and intensity with perfectly harmonized acidity. Pear aromas, citrus, lime and kumquat stands out and remain in the fruity aftertaste.

RIZOMA ASSYRTIKO MALAGOUSIA 2017 - PRIFTIS WINERY

PAIR IT

Pair with green salads with fruit, roasted chicken, risotto milanese or fresh cheeses

Tabbouleh salad

  • 1 cup of couscous
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • juice of a lemon
  • 3 tablespoons of olive oil
  • 1 cup of chopped parsley
  • 1/2 cup chopped coriander
  • 2 tbsps chopped fresh mint
  • 2 ripe tomatoes, cut into cubes
  • 3 fresh onions, finely chopped

Heat water, after salting it first,  in a medium-sized pot and leave it to boil. Add the couscous and leave to moderate heat for 7 to 8 minutes. Drain the couscous and let it cool down. In the meantime, in a small bowl, mix lemon juice with olive oil. Add salt and pepper.

In a large bowl, mix couscous, parsley, coriander, mint, tomatoes and onions. Add the mixture of lemon juice and olive oil and salt and pepper. Leave it for about 20 minutes before serving to marinate.
