Why do we love it?
Route Gris Troupis Winery is a unique wine! Literally unique, since it is a rose Greek wine from Moschofilero, with a character reminiscent of orange wine, which has aged both in acacia barrels and concrete tanks! It is actually a white wine, but its 5-month maturation with the skins transforms it into an impressive hybrid! You have never tried something like this before, for sure.
The experiments at Troupis Winery, in Fteri, Arcadia, started with Hoof & Lur, an orange wine from Moschofilero. This experiment led to a resounding success (it's one of the best wines under $ 20 according to the New York Times) and so they took things one step further. Moschofilero grapes come from the Katarachi vineyard, at 640 meters, with extremely low acreage yields. The wine was fermented in stainless steel tank and old acacia barrels. After the end of fermentation, the wine matured with the skins, in concrete tanks, for 5 months. From the incredible bottle to the glass, Route Gris Troupis Winery will make you see Moschofilero with different eyes and fall madly in love with it.
The bottles are very few and they are definitely not enough for everyone! Hurry up!

It has an amazing, pale rose color and a riveting nose. Imagine the floral character of Moschofilero on steroids! So intense! Turkish delight, rose, kumquat, dried strawberry, quince, icing sugar, brioche, tangerine zest, apricot jam, lemon and honeysuckle overflow from the glass. In the mouth it has medium body, sharp acidity and a hint of tannins. Orange jam, bergamot, bitter orange, pomegranate, white cherry, strawberry, lychee, rose, orange blossom, toast and ginger compose a very impressive ensemble.
