Baron Patrick de Ladoucette is the heir to a winemaking dynasty that dates back to the 18th century. He took the reins in 1972 and has since personally overseen every stage of production, crafting some of the world’s most renowned Sauvignon Blancs. After establishing his base with Pouilly-Fumé, he decided to expand into other regions, with Sancerre being the first and foremost. For his Sancerre wines, Baron Patrick chose to honor his family heritage by using the name of his ancestors — Comte Lafond.
For Comte Lafond Sancerre 2024 Baron de Ladoucette, the Sauvignon Blanc grapes come from 25–35-year-old vines, grown in soils rich in clay, limestone, and silica, which give the wine its distinctive and elegant character. The harvest is done by hand, and the wine is fermented in stainless steel tanks, where it also matures for 3–6 months with frequent batonnage. This results in a wine that retains all its primary characteristics and the unique imprint of the terroir.
If you're looking to taste a truly elegant Sauvignon, Comte Lafond Sancerre 2024 Baron de Ladoucette is exactly what you’re after!
