Why do we love it?

Mineral and elegant, Soave Classico by Inama winery is a white wine made for magical sunsets by the sea, accompanied by divine seafood!

The Inama family winery in Veneto region, have committed themselves to creating wines that highlight Soave's terroir, for more than 40 years. The PDO regions that are labeled as "Classico" indicate that these areas have been producing wine since the Roman era. Over the years though, the varieties that participated in these PDO wines may have changed. It is believed that in these cases the terroir determines the character of the wine and not the variety. Soave, is specifically an area with volcanic soils and its terroir so unique, that is not found anywhere else in Italy.

Around the '60s Giuseppe Inama was searching for the best vineyards in the area, buying only those with the oldest vines. Today, they have some of the best wines found in the region. Garganega is the variety of Soave and its name derives from the word "Graecanicum" which means "from Greece" (WHOA!). Over the years the word was paraphrased and became Garganega!

Soave Classico Inama is an exemplary expression of both the region and the variety. Taste it and you'll agree!

Tastes Like

It has medium lemon color.

Delicate nose with aromas of citron, lime, grapefruit, jasmine, chamomile and green almond.

On the palate it has medium body, refreshing acidity and creamy texture. The aromas of citron, lemon, pear and white flowers are entangled with hints of minerality and herbaceousness. Lemony aftertaste that lasts.

with spaghetti al pesto, fish, oysters, lobster or dishes scented with herbs.

Steamed mussels with white wine and black pepper

  • 1 kg mussels, whole (with shell) cleaned and scraped. Alternatively prefer frozen
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 clove of garlic chopped
  • 3 tbsps. of finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 glass of white wine, preferably Assyrtiko

Place the mussels without water in a large saucepan or pan on a high heat and add plenty of pepper. Cook for about 5 minutes until they open. Throw away mussels that will remain closed. Pour in the wine and leave it for a 1 minute in the heat until the excess of liquids is reduced.

Drain the mussels and hold the liquid left in the pan. Place the mussels in a deep platter. Drain the liquors from the mussels and pass them through a cheesecloth and then put them in a small bowl. Add the parsley to the bowl, stir, pour the mixture over the mussels, and serve.
