Why do we love it?

It is perhaps one of the most timeless brands in the history of Greek wine and brings to mind memories from another era! You will surely have in mind one of the most characteristic wine bottles, with the traditional manual press and the numbering, adorning its label! Strofilia sweetly connects us with the past and has made a dazzling Classy comeback!

It is one of the most historic wineries in the country. Its course began in 1980 from the shared vision of two friends, electrical engineers at the time, Yannis Maltezos and Achilleas Lampsidis. A conversation between them about their next steps brought to the surface their deep desire to deal with wine, but not for livelihood reasons. Thus and completely amateurishly, 2 years later they make their first wines in the Maltezou family's wine press. The traditional manual press «storfilia» that existed there also christened their later winery, which was built at the location of Patitiria Anavyssos, with the addition of the third partner Vassilis Vlachos. From 2020, the team now includes oenologist Yiannis Ligas. A lot may have changed since its foundation until today, but Strofilia is now entering its new and promising era, and this is confirmed by the constant barrage of international awards!

Strofilia Classy White is a blend of white varieties. Malagouzia and Sauvignon Blanc from Stymphalia at an altitude of 800 meters and Moschofilero from Mantineia, are vinified separately. The wine is a classy name and thing because after the pre-fermentation cryo-extraction of a few hours to enhance the aromas, only the free-run juice from the light pressing of the grapes is used. That is, the most qualitative part of the juice! Then the varieties were fermented at a temperature of 16°-18° C for 15 days and thus the aromatic character of the wine was enhanced even more.

It is the case of wine that you will measure its consumption by the number of bottles, so don't stop at just one...

Tastes Like

Into the glass, it has a lively yellow color with lime-green highlights. The very intense aromatic profile of lemon, lime, citrus, yellow grapefruit, and white-fleshed peach, is flanked by notes of freshly cut pineapple and passion fruit, composing a very fresh result.

The aromas of the nose are also distinct in the mouth. The lemon and lime citruses dominate, while the acidity adds a strongly refreshing sensation. The aromas are long-lasting while leaving a soft herbal aftertaste of green tea and lemongrass.
