Moschato (Muscat) Spinas was yet another forgotten Greek variety. A few years ago, two brothers, Manolis and Kostis Strataridakis decided to help it prove itself, giving it the place it deserves. At the southernmost winery in Europe, the variety was given the opportunity it needed. Today, it has been established in the Cretan vineyards and its single varietal wines have earned their place on the top of white aromatic Greek wines.
Both agriculturists by trade, they cultivate their family-owned vineyards, most of which lie on the historic lands of the Sinai Monastery of the Holy Apostles, nestled at the foot of the Asterousia mountains near Heraklion. Originating from the Province of Spina in Chania, Muscat of Spina is closely related to Muscat a petit grains, with its main distinction being the thickness of the grape’s skin.
Uniquely elegant and aromatic, Muscat of Spina by Strataridakis Winery promises to impress the whole company with its freshness, brio, and totally summery character!
