We will uncover the story of the historic Fattoria Nittardi, nestled in the heart of the Chianti Classico region, with a history dating back to the 16th century, when the estate was owned by the legendary Michelangelo Buonarroti. In fact, while working on the Sistine Chapel, Michelangelo is said to have sent Nittardi wines as a gift to the Pope — a tradition that continues to this day!
Sangiovese is the undisputed king of Tuscany, but Nittardi’s ambition goes far beyond that. The family of Peter Femfert and his wife Stefania Canali has created a unique bridge between the traditions of Chianti Classico and the contemporary spirit of coastal Maremma. From elegant Vermentino to exceptional Super Tuscans featuring Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, the estate’s wines showcase Tuscany’s extraordinary ability to produce wines of balance, finesse and remarkable concentration — turning every bottle into a true work of art.
On this special evening, Leon Femfert, owner of Fattoria Nittardi, will be joining us to introduce us to the philosophy, history and secrets behind the estate’s vineyards, both in Castellina in Chianti and in the promising region of Maremma. We will also discover why art plays such a vital role in the identity of the winery.
