The Black Trumpet or Trompette de la Mort (the trumpet of death in French) may have a slightly peculiar name but it is probably one of the most delicate and delicious mushrooms you can taste. It has a fibrous texture and subtle vanilla aromas. It goes well in soups, sauces for white meat such as chicken and pork.
The Museum of Natural History of Meteora picks wild mushrooms on the hills and slopes of Meteora. There the climate and the flora are ideal for many different species of rare, wild mushrooms. One of them is the black trumpet which is collected and dried in ideal conditions, maintaining its delicate aroma.
