Why do we love it?

Barbaresco DOCG Produttori del Barbaresco 2020 is one of the most authentic and noteworthy red wines in the Barbaresco region, and it’s surprisingly affordable. This wine embodies complexity and Italian finesse, earning impressive scores of 95 points from Robert Parker and 94 points from Wine Enthusiast!

Barbaresco is famous for its enchanting hillsides and is one of the most historic and important wine regions in Italy. On the other hand, the Produttori del Barbaresco, a cooperative winery comprising 50 members, is the most iconic and recognised in the region. Established in 1958, the winery has played a pivotal role in elevating Barbaresco to global prominence. Their unwavering commitment to quality and recognition of the region’s unique terroir have set them apart, producing exceptional Barbaresco wines that truly set the standard for the area. Located on limestone and clay-rich soils, their vineyards yield outstanding grapes that contribute to wines with a unique balance of strength and finesse.

One such wine is the Barbaresco DOCG Produttori del Barbaresco 2020. This wine has contributed to the winerys rich history. It is made from Nebbiolo grapes sourced from various vineyards within the DOCG area of the region. The wine undergoes a 24-day fermentation process in stainless steel tanks. After fermentation, it is aged in large oak barrels (for at least 9 months), where it develops a masterful balance between depth, complexity, and the authentic character of Nebbiolo. The consistently high ratings it receives every year are a confirmation of its quality and excellence.

Barbaresco DOCG Produttori del Barbaresco 2020 is not just another Nebbiolo, but an experience that requires time in the glass to reveal its true and multi-dimensional character. A true testament to the greatness of Barbaresco!

PAIR IT

with dishes with red meat, rich tomato sauces, game, extra mature cheeses, or mushroom risotto.

Spaghetti with meatballs

  • 1 slice of whole wheat bread, cut into chunks
  • 225 grams of counterfeit
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 1 portobello mushroom, finely chopped, after removing the stalk
  • 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 3 tbsps. of fresh parsley leaves
  • 1 large egg white
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Fresh grated nutmeg
  • 2 tbsps. of olive oil
  • 700 g peeled tomatoes in juice, hand-melted
  • 120 ml of beef stock
  • 1 bunch of fresh basil
  • 3 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • 225 g spaghetti
  • Parmesan, for serving, optional

Chop the bread into thick breadcrumbs. Place them in a bowl, add minced meat, 3 tablespoons of onion, finely chopped mushroom, 1 tablespoon of garlic, parsley, and egg white. Add salt, pepper and nutmeg. Mix well, until you get a homogeneous mixture. Divide into, approximately,  20 round meatballs and place them on a plate.

Put the pan on moderate heat and heat up some olive oil. Add the rest of the garlic and onion. Cook them for about 10 to 12 minutes by stirring occasionally until they are softened. Mix tomatoes and broth. Add basil and thyme into sprigs so they can be removed afterwards. Let it simmer for 20  minutes, by stirring occasionally. Add the meatballs and simmer, without stirring for about 10 minutes. Turn the meatballs and leave them for another 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to the package instructions in salted water. Serve the pasta by adding sauce, meatballs and as much parmesan as you like. Sprinkle with chopped parsley.
