Why do we love it?

BDX Le Jus Rouge 2024 Bordeaux caught our attention for two big reasons. First, it’s part of a new wave of Bordeaux wines that doesn’t require years of aging to be enjoyable. Second, it’s crafted by the renowned Stéphane Derenoncourt—and if that name rings a bell, he’s the mastermind behind the wines of Clos Stegasta at T-Oinos!

Derenoncourt brings a wealth of experience, having consulted for over 140 wineries in Bordeaux and beyond, across France and internationally. His expertise is unmistakable—wines bearing his signature are known for their balanced, refined, and luxurious style (just think of Clos Stegasta).

With BDX Le Jus Rouge 2024, he set out to do something different—something personal, unpretentious, and fresh, rooted in the region he knows best: Bordeaux. The blend is 50% Merlot and 50% Cabernet Franc, sourced from the limestone-rich soils of Rauzan. This juicy red reveals a different side of Bordeaux—one that doesn’t need aging to shine, and is actually more enjoyable in its youth.

Just don’t forget to slightly chill it slightly before serving it alongside hearty pasta Bolognese or a grilled rosemary steak!

Approachable, juicy, and perfect for summer. Give it a try!

Tastes Like

On the nose, BDX Le Jus Rouge 2024 bursts with purple floral notes like violet and lavender, along with black and red fruits—think blueberry, cranberry, cherry, and plum. Subtle hints of graphite, cinnamon, and clove emerge after a little time in the glass.

On the palate, it’s medium-bodied with bright acidity and smooth tannins. The fruit-forward character continues with flavors of blueberry, plum, blackberry, and sour cherry, all wrapped in layers of dark chocolate and herbs.
