Why do we love it?

The wine that everyone looks forward to every year has just arrived! The youngest version of the Gamay variety which marks the end of the harvest, is also the first wine of the year! But that's not all, Maison Albert Bichot signs it and you know roughly what to expect...

The Bichot family undoubtedly has a huge heritage of producing sensational wines of very high quality and obsessing over perfection from vine to bottle. The winery has stood the test of time with its origins in Burgundy and wine since 1831. It all started in the heart of the Beaune Valley and slowly spread throughout Burgundy from the north to the south. In recent years, since 1996, they have returned to organic cultivation, and under the "orchestration" of Alberic Bichot a new, even more brilliant era has begun for the winery.

Beaujolais Nouveau 2025 by Albert Bichot is the most aromatic and fresh version of the Gamay variety, derived from a specific vinification technique. The unbroken grapes are placed in stainless steel tanks, which contain carbon dioxide, and fermentation begins inside the grapes themselves! These swell and thus release the wonderful aromas and colors of the skin in the wine.

A wine that invites you to celebrate its release and enjoy its youthful charm, because quite simply... young is beautiful!

Tastes Like

In the glass, it is medium ruby. Rich in fresh aromas of strawberry, sour cherry, cherry, red berry, raspberry, blackcurrant, and violet, with notes of orange blossom, pink grapefruit, bergamot, and a subtle hint of white pepper.

The mouth has a light body with crisp acidity and soft tannins. Lively and fruity with dominant red fruits, mainly strawberry, raspberry, and gooseberry. Clove notes unfold subtly in a fresh and refreshing aftertaste.

Maison Albert Bichot

The Bichot family, with a history dating back to 1831, has its roots in Burgundy and is renowned for its unwavering commitment to crafting wines that embody the exquisite finesse of Burgundy. Their unyielding dedication to meticulous management of both the vineyards and the grapes has positioned them among the most esteemed producers in Burgundy for nearly 190 years.

Albéric Bichot, who assumed the helm in 1996, made a significant decision to transition to organic farming practices. Today, the majority of the vineyards within the Côte d’Or are organically cultivated. The Bichot family owns over 100 hectares (250 acres) of vineyards, which are divided into six distinct estates. These estates include Domaine du Pavillon, Domaine du Clos-Frantin, Château-Gris, Château Long-Depaquit, Domaine Adélie, and Domaine de Rochegrès. These estates span from Chablis to Beaujolais

In addition to their own vineyards, the Bichot family also collaborates with other cooperating winegrowers throughout Burgundy, which has contributed to Maison Albert Bichot’s status as one of the greatest négociants in the region.

PAIR IT

Pair it with turkey and berry sauce dishes, shrimp risotto, grilled salmon fillet with Teriyaki sauce, or soft cheeses like Brie and Camembert.

Pizza with prosciutto and arugula

  • 1/2 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp. of grated red pepper
  • 1/4 tsp. oregano
  • 2 tbsps. of olive oil
  • 1 ball of pizza dough, flattened
  • 3/4 cup mozzarella, grated
  • 4 slices of prosciutto, cut into four
  • 1/4 cup mushrooms cut into slices
  • 1/2 small red onion, sliced thinly
  • 1-2 tbsps. Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 cup of rocket

Preheat the oven to 200oC.

In a bowl, mix tomato sauce, oregano and red pepper. Apply the mixture over the flattened pizza dough. Cover with the half grated mozzarella.

Spread prosciutto, mushrooms and onion evenly and sprinkle with the rest of the mozzarella.

Brush the dough crust with olive oil and sprinkle with the grated parmesan cheese.

Place the pizza on baking paper sheet and bake until the cheese gets a golden color, about 10 to 12 minutes.

While the pizza is in the oven, put the rocket, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and a little salt in a small bowl and mix it up.

Remove the pizza from the oven. Let it cool for 5 minutes and then apply the rocket mix. Cut the pizza and serve it warm or at room temperature.
