Why do we love it?
Chateau Chapelle d'Alienor by La Gaffeliere is a Bordeaux blend with the signature of the iconic winery Chateau La Gaffeliere which proves that luxury and elegance aren't always expensive!
Chateau Chapelle d'Alienor is located in the village of Mouliets-et-Millermartin near Saint-Emilion and is one of the wineries of the Malet Roquefort family that also owns Chateau La Gaffeliere. The beautiful winery with 4th-century mosaics is located in Saint-Emilion, the medieval village on the right bank of the Bordeaux, and is famous for its Merlot-based wines. The soil of the wider Saint-Emilion area is clayey, with some gravels, and is responsible for the rich structure and concentration of its red wines.
For the Chateau Chapelle d'Alienor by La Gaffeliere the grapes come from 35-year-old vines and the blend consists of 74% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Franc and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine ages in oak barrels and the result combines the juicy fruit with the discreet presence of the oak.
It is the perfect wine for a Sunday gathering or to end a bad day!
