Why do we love it?

Château d'Issan 2018 is an outstanding expression of Margaux’s potential, produced by a renowned estate and offered at a relatively accessible price point. The 2018 vintage received exceptional ratings from leading wine critics, including 96 points from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate and 95 points from both Decanter and James Suckling.

The history of the estate is almost legendary. Its origins date back to the 12th century, and according to tradition, its wine was served at the wedding of Eleanor of Aquitaine and King Henry II of England in 1152. Today, Château d'Issan 2018 is produced from one of the most historic vineyards on Bordeaux’s Left Bank, with a strong focus on sustainable viticulture and the expression of Margaux’s unique terroir. The blend consists of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, and the wine is aged for approximately 18 months in French oak barrels, half of which are new. Effortless luxury, expressiveness, and dense fruit in every sip.

A wine that truly deserves a place in your collection!

Tastes Like

Château d'Issan 2018 displays complex aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, and ripe red fruits, harmoniously intertwined with notes of cedar, graphite, smoke, sweet spices, and flowers.

On the palate, it is rich and generous, yet aristocratically balanced, with velvety tannins, vibrant acidity, and a medium-to-full body. Red and black fruit flavors mingle with nuances of smoke, cigar box, bell pepper, eucalyptus, lavender, vanilla, and black pepper.
