Chateau Kirwan 2019 has received 94pts from Robert Parker and 92pts from Wine Spectator! If that is not enough for you, we tell you that there has been one of Thomas Jefferson's favorite wines
Chateau Kirwan is located in the mythical village of Margaux, on the Cantenac plateau and belongs to the Third Growths, based on the categorization of 1855. Since 1926 it has passed into the hands of the Schÿler family. Their philosophy is to make wines with as few interventions as possible (before it even became fashionable). That is why they call themselves "wine helpers" and not winemakers.
Chateau Kirwan's blend consists of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 8% Petit Verdot and 1% Carménère. The wine is fermented with selected native yeasts and matures for 18 months, in French oak barrels, 1/3 new. The result is robust, strongly aromatic and balanced.
Rumors say that its aging can reach up to 2040. Will anyone be able to confirm it for us?
