Enstikto Red 2019 from Silva Daskalaki Winery combines the spicy temperament of Syrah with the earthy, authentically Cretan character of Kotsifali, creating a rich and enjoyable wine that stood out at the Thessaloniki Wine & Spirits Trophy 2026, winning a Silver Medal.
The winery is located in the village of Siva, in Heraklion, from which the name Silva is derived, referring both to the place and symbolically to the god Dionysus (Siva). Behind the winery is Eirini Daskalaki Xenogiannaki, who revived the family vineyard with the goal of producing high-quality wines. With strong foundations—since the family’s viticultural tradition dates back to 1920—she has succeeded in creating wines that faithfully express the terroir of the Cretan land, using both local and international grape varieties.
Enstikto Red 2019 from Silva Daskalaki is a blend of Syrah (70%) and Kotsifali (30%), sourced from vineyards at 600 meters altitude, cultivated biodynamically with respect for soil life and with the aim of achieving the best possible expression of both the varieties and the land
At the winery, fermentation and aging take place in French oak barrels and amphorae, where the wine matures for 12 months. This process enhances the complexity of the aromas, harmoniously integrates the characteristics of the varieties, and provides structure, depth, and balance.
With its intense and generous character, Enstikto Red 2019 from Silva Daskalaki is the ideal companion for special moments and refined flavors. Give it a try!
