SORRY GUYS, WE RAN OUT OF THIS ONE

Limited production, unlimited taste!

Why do we love it?

A single vineyard. The family's first linear vineyard planted back in 1978. The low yield per hectare does not exceed 600 kg / ha, the harvest is  always overripe and berry selection is particularly rigorous and done manually. The varieties? What else? Xinomavro and Negoska, as they shound in this  area.

The twelve first months passed in new French oak barrels and the next six resting in the bottle.

Today, the Goumenissa Single Vineyard Domaine Aidarini, is one of the best premium Goumenissa you can enjoy. And we mean it!

Concentrated, full bodied, rich, it is among those wines you can forget in a dark corner of your cellar for 10 years, but you will not do it.

With serious aging potential over and above the three days that you will endure, the very limited production Goumenissa i Single Vineyard Domaine Aidarini represents the best side of an area with huge wine history and culture.

Of course, the history of winemaking in Aidarinis family does not lack in history, starting somewhere in the late 19th century. Continued international distinctions are the ideal reward the producer and those who love it. And we are many!

Deep red color with ruby hues in the glass.

Expressive, with impressive aromas of sundried tomato, smoked paprika and olive paste. Plum, cherry and dried strawberry acquire spicy tones of pepper and vanilla and herbal hints of tea and chocolate complete the complex bouquet.

Full bodied (-) mouth, rich, with the initial sweetness of alcohol supporting the fruit, balancing with the refreshing acidity and well worked, moderate (+) tannins. Strawberry, cherry and plum are entangled with black tea and cedar while a beautiful sense of cocoa remains in the good-length aftertaste.

GOUMENISSA I SINGLE VINEYARD 2017 - AIDARINI WINERY

PAIR IT

Pair with barbecued steaks with barbecue sauce or red meats with tomato sauce and spaghetti.

Pork chops with tomato jam and crispy leek

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil and 6 extra tablespoons (for leek)
  • 1 fresh onion, sliced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
  • 4 ripe tomatoes finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of mirin (or white wine vinegar and 1 tablespoon of sugar)
  • 4 pork chops (about 2 cm thick)
  • salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 1 leek (white part only) well washed

Preheat the oven to 200 degrees. Heat 1/4 cup olive oil in a pan. Add the onion and the garlic and cook until they become transparent, about 3 minutes.

Add tomatoes and mirin (or vinegar and 1 tablespoon of sugar). Boil while stirring to moderate heat, until the mixture becomes almost dry or about 15 minutes.

Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pan. Season the steaks with salt and pepper. Sauté until they get a nice golden-brown color, about 1.5 minutes on each side. Transfer them to a baking pan and roast them for about 5 minutes in the preheated oven.

Add the remaining 4 tablespoons of olive oil to the pan. Chop the white part of the leek. Add the leeks to the hot olive oil and fry until crisp.
