It is a special and very limited production wine from maybe one of the most alternative greek wine makers. John Papargyriou , the low profile winemaker from Laliotis in Korinthia, surprises us once more with one of his traditional now high–ranked wines. It is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Mavrodafni and the portuguese variety Touriga Nacional!
The name Le Roi des Montagnes Cuvee means the King of the Mountains and is inspired by the book of the French author, Edmond About, who narrates the adventure of a botanist. He arrived in Greece to record and discover new species until he was kidnaped by bandits of the time.
With a packaging for many awards (it has already won and nominated for some), the bottle is sealed with sealing wax and hides a unique secret. An excellent red wine with intensity, character and the makings of a great red wine!
The grapes were harvested super – ripe and the blend matured in 300lt oak barrels for 24 months before it was bottled without filtering and sizing.
We suggest to decant it in a carafe for half an hour before you enjoy it. Let it age for a decade without any fear.
