Expressive, juicy and... beloved!

Why do we love it?

The Lexis M Zacharias Winery is an expressive and juicy Mavrodaphne that has all the elements that we adore in the "forbidden" variety. Dense fruit, laurels, purple flowers and chocolate notes will fill up your glass from the very first minute.

Zacharias winery is one of the oldest wineries in Nemea with a huge wine tradition. The state-of-the-art winery may have been built in 2002 but the family history in wine begins several years ago (over 30). They deal mainly with the local varieties of the area such as Agiorgitiko and the very rare Sklava, but Elias Zacharias was also one of the first to put Mavrodafni in Nemea, in 1999. This is how Lexis M Zacharias Winery was born. The wine matures in French oak barrels for about 12 months and another 6 in concrete tanks. The result has pure red and black fruit and the intense botanical imprint of the variety.

Rich dishes with game will go perfectly with Lexis M Zacharias Winery.

80ml olive oil
Freshly ground pepper

In addition, we will need

Baking sheets

In a blender, mash all the marinade ingredients.

Season the lamb well on all sides and spread the marinade on the inside.

Spread 2-3 sheets on your counter, which will fit the lamb, spread the vine leaves and place the lamb above them.

Fill the peppers with the cheese, place them in the middle and wrap in a roll, lifting the oil sheet with the vine leaves.

Close well, place the roll in a baking pan and bake in a preheated oven at 180o C for 4 hours.

Serve the roll hot or at room temperature.

Extra tips

-We can fill the lamb with any filling we like such as rice or pine nuts
-If we do not like dill, we skip it
