The Italian-Slovenian Josko Gravner is considered to be the father of "orange wines" creating a trend in the Friuli region in Italy. The Orange Methymnaios, created by Yiannis Lambrou from the island of Lesbos, follows the steps outlined by the "crazy-Gravner" vinificating the rare variety Chydiriotiko to produce orange wine.
Both the unique terroir of the region located in the crater of the volcano that created the Petrified Forest of Lesvos, and the particular way winemaking, contributed to the preparation of a unique special orange wine which will delight those looking for diversity.
We suggest you treat it as you would with a red wine, serving it in a temperature 16o C and leaving it to breathe in a carafe for half an hour.
