Why do we love it?

Ricasoli Historia Familiae is not just another red Tuscany. It is an entire wine encyclopedia, describing through the flavors, the body, and the intensities, the winemaking history of the Ricasoli family over the centuries. The reasons why it is placed at the top among the winemakers of the region are now clear...

The emblematic winery Ricasoli was a station in the formation of the style of the wines of the Chianti region. Baron Bettino Ricasoli, also known as the Iron Baron was responsible for the formulation of this recipe in 1872, while the winery has been producing wines since 1141. Currently, Francesco Ricasoli is in charge of the winery, which combines modern know-how, with the wine heritage of his ancestors, creating iconic wines.

The history of the winery was of course the work of many family members, from politicians to warriors and of course winemakers, who in various ways put their little stone to form the name and prestige of today's Ricasoli. The names of 61 of them decorate the luxury label in gold letters, as a small sign of respect and gratitude for their work. The wine comes out in very few and very specific vintages and the percentage of the varieties always depends on each year.

The legendary Ricasoli Historia Familiae 2016 is Merlot 33%, Cabernet Sauvignon 33% and Petit Verdot 33%, in a blend that has been created by history, but now makes its own…
