The 2017 Syrah from Ktima Evharis is a well-aged Syrah, right at its peak—one of those wines that practically begs for a BBQ and good company. The French variety is cultivated at an altitude of 400 meters, in an area closely linked to wine since 1000 BC.
The poor limestone soil of the region is rich in lava residues, microelements and fossilized shells and together with the particular terrain, which is full of hills, and the fact that it is located between two sea blocks, the Corinthian and the Saronic, it composes a unique terroir.
For Syrah 2017 Domaine Evharis the fruit was very carefully seleced by hand. After the initial fermentation for 15 days in special stainless steel tanks, it matured beautifully for 12 months in French oak barrels acquiring spicy character.
Impressively structured, with perfect balance between flavor and aroma, the 2017 Syrah from Ktima Evharis has become a true collector’s wine—one you, unfortunately, won’t come across again.
