Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2012 is the flagship cuvée of Taittinger. Produced only in exceptional vintages, it is made exclusively from Grand Cru Chardonnay and aged for at least 8 to 10 years in the house’s historic chalk cellars beneath Reims. This is a Champagne that never rushes to the glass—but when it arrives, it rewards with every sip. The 2012 vintage was a standout, earning top scores: 99 points from James Suckling, 96 from Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast, and 95 from Wine Advocate.
Taittinger family has been at the helm of the house for over a century, guided by their motto: “always in pursuit of excellence.” Each generation has left its mark on the house’s style and values, shaping an identity that blends tradition with evolution. As one of Champagne’s most historic maisons, Taittinger holds a unique charm—each bottle tells a story, filled with people, moments, and legacy waiting to be discovered. One of our favourite stories is that of Thibaud IV le Chansonnier, Count of Champagne and 13th-century poet, whose legacy inspired the creation of Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs. This is a wine that doesn’t just tell the story of the house—it tells the story of Champagne itself.
Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2012 is crafted from 100% Chardonnay sourced from the Grand Cru vineyards of the Côte des Blancs: Avize, Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Oger, Chouilly, and Cramant. Only the juice from the first pressing is used, and a small portion (around 5%) is aged for four months in new oak barrels, adding depth and subtle spice. The 2012 vintage is considered one of the finest of the decade—as reflected in the scores above. Despite challenging weather early in the season, the harvest yielded grapes of remarkable concentration and balance. The result is a Champagne that is vibrant, structured, and built to age beautifully.
This is a wine made for life’s greatest moments.
