Louis Roederer is counted among the greatest and most historic houses of Champagne. Today, the seventh generation of the family continues its legacy, carrying forward invaluable heritage and long-standing expertise in the art of champagne. The estate owns 242 hectares of vineyards, 78 of which are certified biodynamic, proving the house’s commitment to sustainable cultivation and the production of wines of the highest quality.
Cristal 2014 Louis Roederer is composed of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, sourced exclusively from 39 of the 45 parcels of Domaine Cristal—specifically those that reflect the true identity of the house. The 2014 vintage was particularly sunny, allowing the grapes to ripen perfectly and resulting in a wine that could be described as “the epitome of terroir.” About 32% of the base wine was fermented and aged in French oak barrels before the second fermentation in the bottle, adding complexity, structure, and aromatic depth. The wine then spent approximately six years on the lees in the bottle.
Cristal 2014 Louis Roederer is a faithful expression of its vintage and perhaps the most precise representation of the house’s style.
