The House of Louis Roederer, founded in 1776, has long been committed to sustainable viticultural practices. In the late 1990s, it foresaw the impact of climate change and initiated a viticultural revolution. In 1998, the historic “La Villers” plot was replanted with young vines derived from massal selection, ensuring the continuity and high quality of Cristal Rosé.
Cristal Rosé 2014 comes from vineyards considered the finest crus (Aÿ, Avize, Mesnil-sur-Oger) of the House, crafted from a blend of 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay. Jean-Baptiste Lécaillon (cellar master since 1999) applied a method inspired by Japanese tea masters, aiming for a very gentle and controlled extraction of the most delicate aromas from the grape skins. About 20% of the wine was aged in French oak vats, adding depth and intensity, while six years of maturation on the lees in the bottle before release gave it a delightful creamy texture and aromatic complexity.
Cristal Rosé 2014 by Louis Roederer was created to be enjoyed with caviar and dishes rich in umami character. It is particularly rewarding for lovers of haute gastronomy.
