Why do we love it?

Are there Grand Crus in Provence? Οf course! Château Saint-Maur is one of the 14 Provence estates that are classified as "Crus", according to the classification made in 1955 for the estates of the Provence region. The winery is located just 10 kilometers from Saint-Tropez, to the west of the plain joining the foothills of the Massif des Maures and the Mediterranean Sea.

L 'Excellence 2017 is a world-class rosé that carries over it, more than 2000 years of history since the estate dates to 600 BC. It consists of a blend of 54% Grenache, 26% Cinsault, 13% Carignan and 7% various other varieties. A very careful vinification is being followed to maintain the vivid and aromatic character of the wine. It belongs to the prestige range of the estate and is ideal to accompany gastronomic dishes and special moments!

Tastes Like

It has very soft peach-rose color.

In the nose freshness, minerality, white fruits such as peach and flower notes such as rose dominate. After a few seconds, honey and citrus notes such as grapefruit and tangerine make their appearance.

On the palate, elegance and excellent balance combined with high acidity steal the show. The aromas of the palate follow those of the nose and synthesize an excellent experience! Fruity finish that lasts.

L'EXCELLENCE 2017 - CHÂTEAU SAINT-MAUR

PAIR IT

Pair it with sushi and salmon or shellfish dishes

Salmon with Dijon sauce in the oven

  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 3 tbsps. of Dijon mustard
  • 1 tbsp. of honey
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped peanuts
  • 4 tsps. finely chopped fresh parsley
  • 4 salmon fillets
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 lemon, for garnish

 

Preheat the oven to 200oC.

In a small bowl, mix well butter, mustard and honey. In another bowl, mix breadcrumbs, pistachios and parsley.

Brush each salmon fillet with the mixture of mustard and honey and sprinkle with the breadcrumb - pistachio mixture.

Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until it becomes flaky. Season with salt and pepper and garnish with slices of lemon.
